Ultimation Industries, LLC is a woman-owned conveyor manufacturing company based in Roseville, Michigan. In 2019, the company was a finalist for Amazon’s Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year. We also earned honors as one of “2019 Metro Detroit’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For”. The company is also included in the Inc 5000 list of America’s fastest growing companies. There are a lot of conveyor manufacturers to choose from, but few that match our capabilities.
Established over 30 years ago, we serve the material handling needs of large and small businesses. During this time we have learned a lot about solving handling problems and continue to learn and adapt to changing industries. This is what makes us one of the leading conveyor manufacturers in the USA. If you need a productivity solution, we’d like to help!
How Much Do Conveyor Systems Cost?
You can set up a simple gravity roller conveyor system for under $200. Ultimation sells many of these small roller conveyors every day to businesses that are growing fast and need to stop carrying packages and start sliding them along a conveyor. At the other end of the scale, high speed conveyors as used in Distribution Centers (DC) are typically systems in the $300,000 to $5m range. It’s all a question of conveyor length, speed required, motorized or gravity and the weight of the product being carried by the conveyor.
Sometimes it can be helpful to consider the length of conveyor per linear foot (or per linear metre). Low cost gravity roller conveyors range from roughly $13 per foot to $40 per foot. The variables would be the number of rollers, diameter of the rollers and the width of the conveyor. If a conveyor is motorized, the cost of simple belt conveyors or motor drive roller conveyors is the next most affordable category. These systems range from around $150 per foot to $400 per foot. The variables would be the number of zones, the width, and the weight of the product being carried.
Overhead conveyors can also be quite affordable. The simplest hand push trolley systems using Ultimation’s Unibilt track and trolley system have a basic cost of about $10 to $30 per foot. That price however doesn’t include the installation. Because they are mounted above the production area, installation cost for overhead conveyors can be as much as the conveyor equipment itself in some cases. Simple motorized overhead conveyors cost from $100 – $400 per foot. The best type of overhead conveyor is a power and free conveyor, but these conveyors typically cost in excess of $500 per foot.
Can Ultimation give me a rough budget on a Conveyor System?
Of course! Our team are working with customers every day that are buying their first conveyor system. We’ll guide you through the process, and we’d generally rather see you get started with a low cost “quick ship” model from our online store if that’s a good fit. If you have a layout or rough idea of what you need, we can give you a rough budget. Some customers send us CAD drawings of their ideas. Others send us sketches on a napkin.
Know your product, Select your Conveyor
This might seem obvious, but we’re going to ask you a lot of questions about your product/s that you’d like to move. Questions like:
- What exactly are the products that you are moving?
- How much do they weigh? What’s the lightest? What’s the heaviest?
- How many products are on the conveyor at one time?
- How big are the smallest and largest products the conveyor will carry (we’ll need the length, width and height)?
- What is the conveying surface like? This is really important. If’s its a flat or rigid carton, tote or pallet, that’s easy. But many products are flexible or have protruding surfaces on the face where the conveyor will carry them.
- Is your product fragile? No problem, we have solutions for that
