Ultimation Industries Adds New Vision, Laser Marking and Electrical Solutions to Quick-Ship Online Store

New offerings can help companies across many industries improve productivity, quality control and throughput

ROSEVILLE, Mich. (Feb. 23, 2024) – Ultimation Industries has expanded its quick-ship online store to include dozens of vision, laser marking and electrical solutions for industrial applications. This new range of products includes scanners, light curtains, sensors and more that can improve quality control for manufacturers, warehouses, distribution centers and others.

Ultimation is the leading direct-to-consumer conveyor manufacturer, specializing in solving productivity challenges with fast-to-deploy solutions for a broad range of end-markets.

“Since joining the Motion & Control Enterprises family of companies in 2023, we’re able to offer customers new automation and material handling solutions to improve productivity, quality and throughput,” said Kali Wahrman, general manager of E-commerce for Ultimation. “Our on-line store makes it easy for customers to find these new products and get them shipped quickly to their locations.”

Among the new products available are:

  • Photoelectric sensors. Also known as photo-eyes, these through-beam sensors are commonly used for applications such as counting, sorting, inspection, material handling and more. They are an important component in any automated or motorized system. Ultimation also offers stand-alone, retroreflective photo-eye sensors that can be customized with a number of different light sources and optical blocks, and paired with various reflectors depending on the application’s need.

  • Inductive proximity sensors. These sensors detect the presence (or absence) of metallic objects without the need for physical contact. Unlike photoelectric sensors or through-beam sensors, which use light to detect objects, inductive proximity sensors operate based on electromagnetic induction.

  • Laser marking. Laser marking systems create high-contrast marks through oxidation without disrupting the actual material surface. This allows marking of the surface area while leaving it intact. Laser marking is commonly used on titanium and stainless steel parts and is excellent for QR codes, logos, bar codes, and other various types of identification.

AREX400 Laser System Controller and Marking Head Electrical Solution

  • Cable, fiber optics and accessories. A wide selection of electrical accessories—from cables to reflectors and mounting brackets—are available for vision systems, laser marking systems, barcode scanning systems, and more.

The new product line includes trusted industry brands such as Datalogic, Matrix, DataSensing, Tri-Tronics, and more.

“These versatile solutions are ideal for a huge range of industries and applications, from automotive and aerospace to food and beverage,” said Wahrman.

Success Stories: Customers “Beam” Over Trolley Options

Customers are beaming over the many ways Ultimation products provide creative solutions to storage and other household problems. This latest edition of our “Success Stories” series features customer stories using Beam Trolleys with five-foot Unibilt Enclosed Conveyor Tracks.

Story 1: Seasonal Overhead Storage

The Challenge: Storing bulky seasonal equipment like snowblowers and winter tires takes up valuable floor space once winter ends.

The Solution: One customer used our beam and trolley combo to lift heavy gear into overhead storage.

“Needed a place to store a snowblower and winter tires; this with a hand pulley worked perfectly,” the customer writes.

The cast iron trolley can handle loads up to 250 pounds. The set also includes a five-foot enclosed track for smooth movement of objects.

Story 2: Retractable Home Gym Setup

The Challenge: A heavy punching bag required a sturdy overhead mount for workouts, but needed to be cleared away when the garage space was used for parking.

The Solution: By mounting the Ultimation beam trolley and track to the garage ceiling, this punching bag can be moved into position for practice or stowed out of the way when not in use. “Well made,” writes the customer. “I modified it for punching bag. Works great! Super solid!”

Story 3: Heavy-Duty Overhead Hauling

The Challenge: The customer needed to move heavy objects with a garage hoist and required a sturdy overhead system that allows for future expansion.

The Solution: The customer paired two Ultimation beam trolleys to increase total load capacity and attached the entire system to his garage hoist. He planned to extend the overhead system by adding Ultimation tracks.

“Used this with two trolleys (for additional load capacity), made some brackets and bolted it onto a garage hoist; drilled and put a bolt at each end to retain the trolley in the track,” writes the customer. “Works flawlessly. I’m going to be adding additional track with turn pieces.”
