How to Choose and Configure the Right Roller Conveyor:
- Choose a roller conveyor between frame (BF) width based on your product dimensions. Measure your product width and add 1” on each side for clearance. This will determine your required between frame. If your product may shift sideways, you might want to consider wider widths or installing guide rails.
- Identify your required conveyor length. Our heavy duty gravity conveyors come in lengths of 5′ and 10’. You can customize your conveyor layout by bolting sections together.
- Decide on support centers. Determine the spacing required between supports for your conveyor based on the weight of your packages or products. Provide support at 5’ and 10’ intervals for all loads. 5’ intervals increase your load capacity.
- Select the right roller center for your product. The roller center—distance between each roller—affects how safely your conveyor handles the load. Smaller roller centers support more weight, and getting the correct roller center helps prevent products from getting stuck. Our gravity conveyors come in 3″, 4-1/2″, and 6″ roller centers. As a rule of thumb, the product should glide on at least three rollers at once—more if the bottom surface is uneven.
