The Mini Label Eye from Tri-Tronics is a rugged and compact fork-style label sensor measuring only 10mm wide. This special purpose gap sensor, or slot sensor, is optimized to sense adhesive labels adhering to a roll of backing paper. The MLELC’s optics are specially designed to greatly reduce sensitivity to web flutter, and the IR LED light source penetrates thicker backing material as well as reducing temperature drift. With a 35 microsecond response time, this label sensor can keep up with even the fastest and most advanced high speed rewinders. The fork design has an integrated bracket that makes mounting the MLELC a quick and simple process. A large status indicator displays green when the sensor is powered on, and displays red when the output is on. All outputs are continuously short-circuit protected, and the MLELC responds to the sensor’s pulsed modulated light source which results in high immunity to most ambient light.
