The 3000X reflector tape from Tri-Tronics is a fundamental component in any application utilizing retroreflective photoelectric sensors, also known as retroreflective photoeyes. This tape has a self-adhesive backing; simply determine where you need the reflective tape based on your sensors, remove the backing, and firmly press the tape onto the surface.

Why is a Sensor Reflector Necessary?
Photoelectric sensors contain both the emitter and receiver in one housing, but the light source requires a path where the beam of light can be returned to the sensor’s receiver. This is where sensor reflectors come into play. A sensor reflector, often sold as a stand alone section of reflective material, or as a strip/sheet of reflective tape, allows the beam of light traveling from the emitter to be reflected back to the sensor’s receiver. There are many factors to consider when choosing the correct reflector for sensors including the surface the reflector will be applied to, light dispersion, brightness, and most importantly, the detection distance; the distance the tape needs to be “seen” by the sensor.
