How to Choose and Configure the Right Gravity Conveyor:
- Choose a between frame width for your conveyor based on your product dimensions. Be sure to allot an inch space on each side of your product from the frame. Also, consider wider widths or fixed or adjustable side guides if there’s a chance your product may move sideways on the conveyor.
- Choose the conveyor length that fits your needs. Our heavy duty conveyors are available in 5’ and 10’ lengths. Connect sections to achieve your desired layout.
- Identify support centers. Support centers are the distance between each leg support. Place supports at either 5’ or 10’ intervals for all loads. 5-foot intervals increase your conveyor’s load capacity.
- Choose a roller center that best suits your products. Choose a roller center (i.e., the distance between rollers) that ensures your products don’t get stuck in between rollers. Each product must be gliding on at least 3 rollers at any given time—more if the product has an uneven bottom surface. While this specific conveyor comes with 3” centers, you can also get them in 4-1/2″ or 6″ centers.
Our staff are happy to assist in analyzing and configuring the correct heavy duty manufacturing conveyor for your needs!
